Lucas Hager

Lucas Hager began playing the violin at the age of 6 using the Suzuki Method. At the age of 12, he was the concertmaster of the Junior All-State Orchestra in his home state of South Carolina. The same year, he also won the Junior High division of the SC MTNA competition for young performers. In 1998, he enrolled as a music student at the University of South Carolina to study with Dutch violinist Frits DeJonge, and received his Bachelor's in Music Performance from that school four years later. While there, he placed first runner-up in the College division of the SC MTNA competition both in 1999 and 2000. He also performed with the South Carolina Philharmonic, the Charlotte Philharmonic, and the Augusta Symphony while a student at USC.

In 2002, Lucas moved to Chicago in order to study with world-class soloist Vadim Gluzman at Roosevelt University. Two years later, he completed his Master's in Violin Performance there. While at Roosevelt, Lucas was also a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago in 2003 and 2004. Then, from 2004 to 2006, he studied privately with Chicago Symphony Orchestra violinist Nathan Cole. Presently, Lucas freelances in Chicago and the Surrounding areas, and offers private violin instruction in Mount Prospect and Oak Park.


Timothy Hager

Timothy Hager began studying viola with Dr. Sherry Woods at the age of seven using the Suzuki method. At the age of 16, he became a resident music student at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities where he studied with Kathryn Dey. After two years, he graduated with an Arts Diploma in Music. Immediately after, Timothy enrolled at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD to study with acclaimed soloist and pedagogue Victoria Chiang. Following his graduation from Peabody in 2007, Timothy moved to Chicago to begin his graduate work at the Chicago College of Performing Arts where he studies with Lawrence Neuman and Roger Chase.

Timothy has attended several prominent summer festivals, including the Orford Arts Center in Quebec, the Encore School for Strings, and the Indiana University String Academy. During these times, he has studied with distinguished musicians such as Jeffrey Irvine, Jutta Puchhammer-Sedillot, Matthew Dane, and the Cavani String Quartet.

In recent years, Timothy has made appearances with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the Classical Symphony of Chicago, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Currently, he freelances in Chicago and the surrounding areas.
