Notable Musical Elements:
One of several new Burt works featuring a decelerating form. The parts to this piece are asynchronous, specifying that each performer is to loop their short musical segment many times. Each is to begin playing at the fastest tempo possible for them to play their fragment well with each successive repetition slower than the last. The piece is to continue until the pianist who pops a balloon during each of her loops runs out of balloons. Their are of course some prescribed disruptions along the way that along the performers more leeway and perhaps a little improvisation that may develop the preexisting material or stray into new territory.
