Studio Techniques

with Dr. Geoffrey Wright
Peabody/Johns Hopkins Computer Music Department
Fall 2014

Studio Techniques is designed for students who have had at least a year of computer music study and some practical experience working in a computer studio. First we'll make sure that we share a common vocabulary and knowledge base. Second, we'll learn the basics and conventions of the Peabody Computer Music Studios. And last we'll cover the more sophisticated computer music studio techniques available at Peabody including advanced use of MIDI, synthesizer programming, sample editing and processing, Time Code and synchronization, and recording and production techniques.
